Famous Bridges of the World

Charles Bridge

Found in Prague, Czech Republic, the bridge is gothic-inspired that crosses the Vltava river. It was constructed in the year 1357 under King Charles IV. It is the most important connection between the Old Town and the area around Prague Castle. Today, it is one of the most visited place in Prague, the area is garbed with kiosks and other traders.


Tower Bridge

It is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London crossing the River Thames. It is an iconic symbol of London. The construction was started in the year 1886. The bridge consists of two towers which are tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways.


Millau Bridge

It is a cable-stayed road-bridge that spans the valley of the river Tarn near Millau in southern France. There are a lot of tourists that admire the bridge causing traffic in the place. It is now considered as the tallest vehicular bridge in the world, 343 meters (1,125 ft) tall.


Golden Gate Bridge 

The Golden Gate is  the strait between San Francisco and Marin County to the north. It is the work of an architect named Joseph B. Strauss. It is now the most recognized landmark in San Francisco and California.
